It’s a three day safari into the wild heart of Kafue National Park, offering an immersive, untouched, and unforgettable African wilderness experience where time slows down and the pulse of nature takes over.

Kafue National Park is Zambia’s largest and oldest national park, covering about 22,400 km², making it one of the largest protected wildlife areas in Africa. It is a true symbol of untouched wilderness and raw African beauty.

What makes Kafue special: Home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and over 20 species of antelope and a paradise for bird lovers with more than 500 bird species.

This 3 days safari transitions from the bustling energy of Lusaka into the golden grasslands and deep riverine forests of the interior. Led by the passionate storytellers guide and driver of Safariwide, you will encounter amongst the majestic Big 5 predators, gentle giants, and the warm, rhythmic heart of Zambian hospitality.

Before we depart, the evening before the tour starts, we gather for a Warm Welcome Session. Your Safariwide team will be present to provide an in-depth briefing on the wonders ahead, ensuring you are prepared for the wild adventure.   • Day 1: The Gateway to the Wild

    Summary: Today is about the transition from urban life to the whispering bush. We journey west, uncovering history and preparing our spirits for the wilderness.

    What to Expect: Scenic roadside vistas, a deep dive into ancient caves, and the first breath of crisp, untamed park air.

    Morning Activity

    Morning: A day begins with a leisurely breakfast to fuel up your body for the road ahead. At 7:30 AM sharp, your Safariwide guide arrives in a gleaming vehicle parked at the parking slot. After a smooth check-out, our first stop is the Levy Mall located in Lusaka and we will visit Shoprite or alternative to stock up on your favorite chilled juices and artisanal snacks, those little comforts that make a road trip perfect.

    As we leave the city, the landscape opens up of acacia trees, and as an eco-tourism, we support or give back to them community by stopping by the roadside traders to purchase some few veggies etc. And then we will head straight and stop at the historic Mumbwa Caves, where the limestone walls tells stories of the Stone Age. It’s a moment of profound silence and connection to the ancestors of this land.

    Lunch (12:00hrs): By midday, we reach Mumbwa for a Sumptuous Lunch at a local gem, the Olive Grove (enjoy a fusion of continental flavors and traditional Zambian hospitality in a clean, refreshing environment).

    Afternoon Activities

    Afternoon: We push deeper into the interior. As the sun begins to mellow, the vegetation shifts into the Miombo woodlands of Kafue. Upon arrival, you will check into your Luxury Safari Lodge. The staff will welcome you with cold towels and a refreshing drink. Take this time to "make yourself at home," perhaps taking a quick dip in the pool or simply watching the horizon from your private deck.Evening: As the stars begin to pierce the velvet sky, the team will escort you to a Gourmet Dinner at the lodge’s restaurant. Expect a multi-course meal featuring fresh, local ingredients perhaps a tender steak. After dinner, retreat to your room for a Peaceful Bedrest, lulled to sleep by the symphony of the African night

  • Day 2: The Pulse of the Park

    Summary: A full-day immersion into the kingdom of animals. From sunrise to sunset, the park is our theater.

    What to Expect: High-octane wildlife sightings and emotional connections at the elephant nursery.

    Morning Activity

    Morning: The wild wakes up early, and so do we. At 6:00 AM, we head out into the wild. Our morning is dedicated to a Deep Game Drive, seeking out the "Big Five" and the incredible birdlife of the region. Breakfast is a magical affair today, a Bush Breakfast served amidst the tall grass as the golden sun rises.

    11:00hrs - We then visit the Elephant Orphanage, a moving experience where you can see the dedicated care given to rescued calves, a true testament to Zambia's soul.

    Lunch: Lunch is a Bush Picnic, set up under the shade of an ancient Baobab or Sausage tree. There is nothing quite like dining in the open air while zebras graze in the distance or a restaurant in the midst of the park.

    Afternoon Activity

    Afternoon: Our exploration continues through different sectors of the park, tracking predators as they begin to stir from their midday naps. Every turn of the trail offers a new discovery.

    As dusk approaches, we return to the lodge to refresh and reflect on the day’s sightings.

    Evening: Dinner tonight is a celebratory "Sumptuous Feast." Under the glow of lanterns, we share stories of the day's sightings. The Team ensures your evening is filled with laughter and fine dining before you head back for another night of Deep Explorer’s Rest.

  • Day 3: The River’s Reflection & Fond Farewells

    Summary: A morning of aquatic tranquility followed by the scenic journey back to reality.

    What to Expect: The calm of the river and the bitter-sweet beauty of the journey’s end.

    Morning: Between 6:00 AM and 7:45 AM, enjoy a final lodge breakfast. At 8:30 AM, we head to the Itezhi-Tezhi waters. We immerse ourselves in a Boat Fishing Experience, feeling the cool spray of the river. For those who prefer the view, we visit the Logorogo Lagoon, a paradise for hot water that never gets cold. And a rural livings lifestyle visit to understand and interact with the locals.

    Before departing, we enjoy a unique “preferred Fish meal prepared with local spices, Which we caught in the itezhi Tezhi River" a taste of bye bye to Kafue National Park.

    Lunch: We begin our drive back, stopping once more in Mumbwa for a final Hearty Lunch to sustain us for the final leg of the journey.

    Afternoon: The road back to Lusaka is a time for quiet reflection. As the city skyline appears around 4:00 PM, we drop you at your hotel or preferred destination. This is the moment that often brings a tear to the eye, the bond formed over three days is strong.

    We don’t say "Goodbye," but rather "Tutaonana" a local language meaning “We shall meet again”. You leave as a member of the Safariwide Family.
